Wonderful blessings and vision of woman as rooted in the earth and growing up over any adversity.
Fate & Destination
I like this a lot. “Nothing” will change our fate and destination but for the fact that we move onwards, without fear. Very good 🙂

Exquisite. It’s easy to think of the hummingbird as being fragile, yet it’s a fierce oppointment. It seems to me to be our fragile relationships with others that must be protected at all cost.

Sounds like my family too – and families most of my friends when I was a teenager
. By the time we became teenagers, our parents got divorced and families fell apart. However I’ve noticed that all my friends, who went through that pain when they were teenagers, are so much more caring with their own families now and put so much more effort into making their relationships work and ensure that their children won’t go through the same pain.

Divorce is so painful and destructive and sometimes shocking, especially in late life. It sounds like my family also…five divorces in five years in my family. It still hurts….thank you for posting about this.

Was thinking about the story of Arjuna. Thanks for the short version. Sounds like my family. Makes me wonder. Taste vs world peace.

Your poetry is amazing. No better poetry then poetry that create thoughts and reaction. Your poetry does. A honor to met you.
August 13, 2012 at 9:34 am Totally agree with you – “The light of the body is the eye; if then your eye is true, all your body will be full of light. But if your eye is evil, all your body will be dark.” ( Bible in Basic English. Matthew 6: 22-23. ) I’m sure that’s exactly what Matthew was talking about – ‘eye’ is our thoughts and attitudes. I did not know much about Indian culture and am just getting to know it via your blog. However I’m already amazed with similarities I discover in our cultures – different words, but the essence is the same. Different lands, but the problems are the same. Learning from each other might help us to find more effective solutions to make life better and more fair for everyone on this planet.

Greetings from one old soul to another, I love your spiritual love-affair with your surroundings, that passion and excitement that boils over the heart, and has to be expressed. Thank you for taking the time to blog this, for us all to reflect. Blessings…

This is almost unbelievable – the image captures a reality that the eye simply dismisses. And your words are the lens through which we can see magnificence. Merci.

I agree with this sanction. They merit the death. When they break, they kill women, they kill human beings, they make us human beings out of the ordinary. It’s like a brand red-hot iron. These traces remain forever indelible.

Very good post. Followed the links in your post and was shocked to read the following: “Supreme Court had commuted the capital punishment to life imprisonment for a young man — who raped a pregnant woman and killed her grand mother-in-law — on the ground that the accused was drunk and not in a normal state of mind.” I find it hard to believe that intoxication can be used as an ‘excuse’ for such crimes. Intoxication affects people’s mental state, but it’s not a mental illness that people have not control over. People should be expected to be able to control their alcohol consumption. E.g., if a driver runs someone over and is found to have a high level of alcohol in his/her blood, this driver will get a more severe punishment (at least in most Western countries) as drink-driving is not being tolerated. I believe the same principle should have been applied to that particular case.

I appreciate that you continue to lead the discussion on this issue of respect of women. It is heartening to see so many men involved, as it make me feel that the balance of masculine and feminine energies is increasing within humanity. I disagree about the death penalty, however. That one calls for this level of punishment speaks to the depth of our pain and feelings of powerlessness regarding the extreme horror of rape. We live in a society that has cultivated violence, as one of many forms of “power over” an “other.” This is the root issue that I feel we must address. As our awareness of our Oneness as Children of One Creator begins to take hold in our human psyche, we will gradually begin to seek true solutions to these violent attitudes and behaviors. Ultimately, I believe we will reach a place where EVERY human life is held precious and the idea of “taking a life” for any reason will be abhorrent. No, I do not live on another planet
and I realize this may take awhile. It is a vision I hold for a new way of being. Meanwhile, I bless you for your dedication to shining light on this dark area of our human nature.

This is very thoughtful and thought provoking. Possessiveness can ruin relationships. It is so important to let each person be free
